As a full-service digital marketing agency, Focus built EmPowerBall Football Leagues from scratch: website, social media, payments and memberships. Then we grew it from zero audience to enough signed-up players to launch a four-team league in three months.

EmPowerBall Football Leagues set out to give women a welcoming, well-organised way to play five-a-side football locally. There was no existing business to build on: no website, no social presence, no payment system, and no audience. Focus was brought in as a full-service digital marketing agency to build the business from the ground up, not just market it.
Launching EmPowerBall meant solving several problems in parallel rather than one at a time: standing up a website people could trust, establishing a social presence from nothing, setting up payments and membership handling that could take real money on day one, and generating enough genuine interest to fill a first season, all inside a tight launch window and with zero brand awareness to start from.
Before a single ad ran, Focus put the infrastructure in place for EmPowerBall to actually operate as a business.
We designed and built EmPowerBall’s website on WordPress: a clean, mobile-friendly brochure site that gave the business a credible home base and a place to send traffic from social and paid campaigns.
Focus set up EmPowerBall’s social channels from scratch and ran full content management, combining organic posting and community content with paid Meta Ads campaigns, so the brand had a consistent voice everywhere a prospective player might find it.
We integrated payment and membership functionality directly into the website, supporting both recurring subscription billing and one-off season and event payments, so EmPowerBall could start collecting revenue and managing members from day one.
With the website, social presence, and payment infrastructure in place, Focus used Meta Ads as the primary acquisition channel to turn that foundation into real sign-ups, treating paid social as a complete funnel rather than a single campaign type.
Identifying and testing local audiences of women interested in football and grassroots sport.
Starting lean to validate what worked, then scaling spend behind the best-performing audiences.

Imagery and messaging designed to feel inviting and community-led, lowering the barrier to first-time sign-ups.
A low-friction path from ad click to registration on the new website, so interest didn’t leak away.
Within three months of launch, EmPowerBall had a fully functioning website, an active social presence, working payment and membership systems, and over 60 leads from women actively interested in joining a league. Twenty-five of them converted into signed-up, paying members, enough to launch a four-team league in its first season. The foundation Focus built didn’t stop paying off after launch: EmPowerBall has continued to grow on the same infrastructure and playbook, and now runs seven leagues across four locations, open to both men and women, with over 200 active players today.
EmPowerBall’s growth reflects how we approach every full-service engagement:
Website, social, payments and paid ads were built by the same agency as one connected system, not separate vendors passing a project between them.
We make sure a business can actually convert and collect payment before we scale traffic to it, so ad spend isn’t wasted on a broken funnel.
Because the foundation was built to scale, EmPowerBall could reuse it to launch new leagues and locations rather than rebuilding from zero each time.
Focus Ecommerce & Marketing builds the whole foundation (website, social, payments, memberships), then grows it with performance marketing that actually converts. Get in touch to talk about what that could look like for your business.
